When I grow up

내가 자라면

When I grow up, I’ll be a great dancer.
I’ll dance in the ballet.
내가 크면 훌륭한 댄서가 될 거야.
나는 발레를 할 거야.

But first I’ll lead a long parade through town.
하지만 먼저 나는 시내를 행진하는 긴 퍼레이드를 이끌 거야.

Then I will join the circus.
I’ll walk the tightrope and everyone will cheer.
그리고 나는 서커스에 들어갈 거야.

Or I might just be the funniest clown in the world.

I will also teach lions and tigers to dance and play music.

When I get tired of being a circus star, I’ll be a mountain climber.

Then I will be a truck driver.
I will drive hundreds of miles every day.

I will have a pet store, too.
All of the pets will be my friends, and I will never sell any of them.

Just for fun, I will be a world-famous doctor and make everyone feel better.

I’ll be a fire chief and will rescue anyone who needs rescuing.

I will be a police officer and help everybody cross the street.

In my spare time, I will be a race-car driver. I will win every race.

If I get bored with that, I will be a mail carrier and deliver letters everywhere.
만약 내가 싫증이 나면, 나는 우편배달부가 되어 어디에나 편지를 배달할 거야.

On the weekends, I will fly an airplane. I will do dangerous tricks in the air.
주말에는 비행기를 탈 거야. 나는 공중에서 위험한 장난을 할 거야.

If I fall, I will just open my parachute and float gently to the ground.
넘어지면 낙하산을 펴서 땅바닥으로 부드럽게 떠다닐 거야.

I will also be a very famous baker.
I’ll make cakes and cookies.
No one will ever have to eat liver or beans again.
나는 또한 매우 유명한 제빵사가 될 거야.
나는 케이크와 쿠키를 만들 거야.
아무도 간이나 콩을 먹지 않아도 될거야. 

Say, that reminds me, I’m getting hungry.
“What’s for dinner?” I ask.

배가 고파지는데...

"저녁으로 뭘 먹을까?" 내가 물었어

“Liver and beans,” Mom answers.
"간과 콩" 엄마가 대답했어.

I can’t wait until I grow up!
빨리 어른이 되고 싶어!
