The Lost Dinosaur Bone 
잃어버린 공룡 뼈

Our class went on a field trip to the Museum of Natural History. I couldn't wait to see the dinosaurs.  
When I grow up, I'm going to be a dinosaur hunter.
우리 반은 자연사 박물관으로 견학을 갔습니다. 저는 공룡들을 보는 것을 기다릴 수 없었어요.
어른이 되면 공룡 사냥꾼이 될 거예요.

But when we got to the museum, the dinosaur exhibit was closed. 
하지만 박물관에 도착했을 때 공룡 전시회는 문을 닫았습니다.

So, had to see the butterflies instead. The butterflies were fun, but I really wished we could see the dinosaurs.
그래서 대신 나비를 봐야 했습니다. 나비들은 재미있었지만, 공룡들을 볼 수 있기를 정말 바랬어요.

Next, we went to the Rain Forest. There were lots of trees with monkeys in them. 
"Oooh! Oooh!" I said to the monkeys.

"우우! 우!" 나는 원숭이들에게 말했습니다.

A guard came running over to see the monkeys, too, so I asked him about the dinosaurs. I found out that the exhibit was closed because a Triceratops bone was missing!
경비원이 원숭이들을 보려고 달려와서 저는 공룡에 대해 물어봤어요. 트리케라톱스 뼈가 없어 전시회가 닫혔다는 걸 알았어요!

In the Hall of Gems and Minerals it was very dark, so we had to wear miner hats with lights on them. Tiger went looking for diamonds, but I was busy looking for the missing dinosaur bone. No luck!
보석과 광물의 전당은 매우 어두웠습니다. 그래서 우리는 광부 모자를 쓰고 전등을 켜야 했습니다. 타이거는 다이아몬드를 찾으러 갔지만, 저는 없어진 공룡 뼈를 찾느라 바빴어요. 아직 운이 없네요.

 

After that, we went to the Planetarium, where the ceiling turned into a sky filled with stars.
그 후, 우리는 천장이 별들로 가득 찬 하늘로 변한 플라네타리움(천체 투영관)에 갔습니다.

We found out that the planet Mars in coverd with dust and that the planet Saturn has rings around it.
우리는 화성이 먼지로 뒤덮여 있다는 것과 토성 주위에 고리가 있다는 것을 알아냈습니다.

 

I kept my eye out for the dinosaur bone, but I didn't see it.
공룡 뼈를 찾으려 눈을 떼지 않았지만 보지 못했습니다.

On out way to see a meteorite, I asked Miss Kitty of I could get a drink of water.
운석을 보러 나가는 길에 키티 양에게 물 한 잔 마실 수 있냐고 물었습니다.

When I found the fountain, I also found something else-the dinosaur exhibit! It had a big sign saying EXHIBIT CLOSED.
분수를 찾았을 때, 나는 또 다른 공룡 전시회를 찾았어요! 전시회 마감이라고 쓰여있는 큰 간판이 있었어요.

I went closer and saw a Tyrannosaurus rex. It was heading right for me!
가까이 가서 티라노사우루스렉스를 보았습니다. 나에게 달려오고 있었어요!

I rand away as fast as I could...
최대한 빨리 도망쳤어요

... and found myself face-to-face with a Velocirapter.
벨로시랩터와 직접 마주보게 되었습니다.

It had its mouth open wide so I could see all its sharp, pointy teeth.
입을 크게 벌리고 있어서 날카롭고 뾰족한 이빨을 다 볼 수 있었어요.

The guard told me the exhibit was closed because of the missing dinosaur bone.
공룡 뼈가 없어 전시회가 닫혔다고 경비원이 말했어요.

  "I know," I said. "I've been looking for it everywhere."
 "알아요,"라고 나는 말했습니다. "제가 공룡뼈를 찾으러 여기저기 찾아다녔어요."

On my way out, I took a wrong turn. That's when I saw something long and white sticking out from under the Ankylosaurus skeleton. It was the missing dinosaur bone!
나가는 길에 방향을 잘못 잡았어요. 그때 저는 안킬로사우루스 뼈 밑에서 길고 하얀 것이 튀어나오는 것을 보았습니다. 사라진 공룡 뼈였어요!

I ran back to tell the guard.
나는 경비원에게 말하려고 뛰어 돌아갔습니다.

He didn't believe me at first...
처음엔 제 말을 믿지 않았어요.

... but when I showed the bone to him, he gave me this big smile.
... 하지만 제가 그 뼈를 그에게 보여주자, 그는 이렇게 큰 미소를 지었어요.

Then I told Miss Kitty, and the guard took out whole class to the special place where the scientists who study dinosaur bones work.
그러고 나서 키티 선생님에게 말했고, 경비원은 공룡 뼈를 연구하는 과학자들이 일하는 특별한 장소로 모든 학급을 데리고 갔습니다.

"Thank you for sloving the mystery of the missing Triceratops bone, "  the scientists told me.
"실종된 트리케라톱스 뼈의 수수께끼를 해결해주셔서 감사합니다.”라고 과학자들이 제게 말했습니다.

The scientists took us a tour of the dinosaur exhibit. They showed us a Stegosaurus skeleton they had found buried in a mountain.
과학자들은 우리에게 공룡 전시회를 구경시켜 주었습니다. 그들은 우리에게 산에서 매장된 스테고사우루스 뼈를 보여주었습니다.

 "I'm going to be a dinosaur hunter when I grow up!" I said.
“나는 자라서 공룡 사냥꾼이 될 거예요!" 라고 말했습니다.

  "You already are," answered the scientists.
  "너는 이미 공룡사냥꾼이 됐는걸."라고 과학자들이 대답했습니다.

You know what I'm going to do toworrow?
내일 내가 무엇을 할것인지 아세요?

Dig for dinosaur bones in my backyard!
내 뒷마당을 파서 공룡뼈를 찾을 거예요!
